I read this book in one day, I couldn’t put it down. Each chapter was perfectly written, each story was the perfect length, each page kept you engaged wanting to know how it ended. The length and time of every miracle written in this book was perfect; it kept everything fresh and entertaining as you read through it all. If anyone is doubting as to whether or not God is still performing miracles, read this book. If anyone is doubting as to whether or not God hears you, read this book. If anyone needs some encouragement in their prayer life, read this book. Thank you Ralph for sharing just some of the ways God wowed you during your career.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!

I spent 40 years as a Southern California first responder (and 25 of those years with Ralph). Ralph shares with us just a glimpse of the many miracles he and his fellow first responders experienced during his career in the fire service. The book is captivating as Ralph carried us into the life of a godly man trying to do his best for all he serves, and recognizes the Lord’s assistance through it all. Oftentimes we have something happen in our lives that we think is a coincidence, but throughout 'The Book of Miracles' Ralph identifies these incidents as being orchestrated by the Lord. The book is an encouragement even to those of us who have served in this lifestyle, and is also an inspiration to those who haven’t experienced it before. To God be the Glory!

I really enjoyed this book page after page. What struck me as a read through it was Ralph Hayne’s ability to see God move in every aspect of his life. In his family life, in his ministry, but the stories that I really enjoyed were the ones where God moved in miraculous ways through Ralph’s faith as a fire fighter. Many of us have read stories from evangelists and pastors but it is refreshing to read of miracles done through the faith of a man who gave his life to community service. Lastly, I really enjoyed the relatable way this book is written so everybody can understand the magnificence of what only God can do.

During his brief period in the U.S. Navy, Ralph attended every firefighting and damage control school that the Navy had to offer. He was also a certified high-pressure welder and repairman. However, his heart was in firefighting.
Before his career began in the fire service, Ralph served his country as a member of the United States Navy, serving aboard the USS Piedmont AD-17, the USS Sperry AS-12, and the USS Buchanan DDG-14. After serving almost four years, he was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1977.
After leaving the Navy, Ralph immediately enrolled in the fire college in San Diego Miramar College, graduating on the Dean’s List with High Honors. Later, he became an adjunct professor at Miramar. Adjunct Professor was a position he held for most of his fire service career. Ralph is a certified fire officer with a Life Time Certified Teaching Credential.
In April of 1978, Ralph Haynes was hired into the Federal Fire Service as a full-time fireman. This hiring allowed him to become one of the first black firemen to work at Naval Station 32ND Street Fire Department. There he served two years as a federal firefighter and relief driver operator.
In 1980, Ralph was hired to his dream job by the City of San Diego Fire Department. After completing a thirty-year career, Captain Haynes retired with honors in April 2010.
Captain Haynes continues to serve the communities of southern California and the firefighters there as a Fire Chaplain of the Chula Vista Fire Department. Before this assignment, he served as Fire Chaplain for the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department throughout his career.
Captain Haynes is a family man. Married to his bride, Raynice, they have raised a great family while serving in the fire department, local church, California’s prison system, and various other entities and organizations.
